Resin drives and resin bound paving was first trailed in the USA around 30 years ago. At that time the systems of choice used epoxy resins to create the surfaces.
Epoxy resins are not UV stable, meaning they yellow in UV light. They are also not particularly environmentally friendly and are often too brittle to accommodate the expansion and contraction that occurs in the substrates as a result of sunlight and temperature variations.
